I’m very excited to announce that I finally finished The Olde World Map! I finished it last June, a couple of weeks before I gave birth. We have only just found the time to frame it and put it up but I am so glad it is now on the wall. This took me nearly 3 years to make – although I did have some breaks from it. Most of the time I loved making it and it is now on display in my hallway. I am really, really pleased with it.Share on Facebook
This weekend I learnt how to make something very important: the hooded towel! I made a couple using old towels I had at home before I paid any money for new towels. The above image shows the completed towel for my 8 month old son. We have found that shops don’t tend to sell hooded towels in any size larger than new born so I am pleased I have taught myself how to do this. To teach myself I used this tutorial, which I found on Pinterest. I am really happy with the final result and have made one as a baby shower present – let’s hope they like it too!

I’ve been spending some time this week on the Map. I still love it – however long it takes! I ought to put it away though and continue the surprise – but that keeps going wrong
However, here is the update:
As you can see the bottom detail is nearly all stitched and a lot of the empty space is starting to be filled with the pattern. I have done some of the outlining as well as there is so much to do. I really love this piece, however time consuming it is.Share on Facebook
